“The Biggest Week in American Birding” is hosted by Black Swamp Bird Observatory, Kaufman Field Guides, Magee Marsh Wildlife Area and Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge.

WMBD is a huge event here at the Magee Marsh Wildlife Area.
The Friends of Magee Marsh, ODNR Division of Wildlife, Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge and Black Swamp Bird Observatory team up to make your visit to our area very memorable.
KIAC's annual "Nest with the Birds"
Their annual "Nest with the Birds" festival, runs from May 16 to May 18, 2019.

Kelleys Island Audubon Club's Nest with the Birds festival starts on Thursday and continues through to Saturday afternoon.
Guided bird walks.
Meeting, pot luck dinner and program 6:00pm Thursday evening at the school.
Woodcock Watch on your own at dusk at the corner of Hamilton and Monagan roads.
Bird banding at Long Point with Master Bander, H. Thomas Bartlett and his assistants - Saturday 8:00 am through 2:00 pm.
Entry to all events is FREE!
Bobolinks & Butterflies at Byers Woods

Ashland County Park District and Greater Mohican Audubon Society are teaming up to celebrate the Bobolinks at Byers Woods.
Although it kicks off with a 9:00 am bird walk, this festival is not just for the birds. There will also be plenty of displays, vendors and native plant sales from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.

KIAC's "Feathers and Foliage"

Kelleys Island Audubon Club hold their Feathers and Foliage fall birding festival on the fourth Saturday in September.
This one day event revolves around bird banding at Long Point with Master Bander, H. Thomas Bartlett and his assistants.
Attendees are shown all aspects of bird banding, kids young and old have the opportunity to release a banded bird.
Banded birds are available for adoption.
Beginner bird walks are also a feature.
Entry to all events is FREE!
