Friends of Magee Marsh

Upcoming Meetings

June Meeting -- Wednesday, 4th -- upstairs in the Decoy room @ 7:00 PM.

This month we are lucky to have two speakers...

J. Brian Alford, Ph.D is the Assistant Director of Stone Lab.

Topic: "Stone Lab's Lake Erie Research and Programs with Emphasis on Darter Ecology in Lake Erie".

Dr. Alford will give an overview of Stone Lab education and outreach programs and then talk more specifically about research that is being done on a group on non-game fish called darters. They are in the same family as perch and walleye but smaller and more colorful - think of them as the warblers of freshwater systems.
