Topic: Howard Marsh Metropark: A Victory in Wetland Restoration

Coastal wetlands are essential to the health of Lake Erie, yet they remain among
the region’s most threatened natural resources. One of the most ambitious
restoration efforts in Toledo Metroparks history has been the transformation of
nearly 1,000 acres of former farmland in Jerusalem Township back into a functioning
wetland ecosystem.

How do you turn almost 1,000 acres of drained agricultural land into thriving marsh habitat?
